Little Ones

I know I may be biased but my niece and nephew are just SO STINKIN' CUTE! Jar and I had a blast playing with them and holding them and just spending time with them. Here are a few cute pics of us and the little ones! Jarad & Jordan Jarad & Audrey- playing some Wii- which Audrey loved to do! She kept saying, I want a mote-control! Audrey and her breakfast...this day it was fruit loops but every other day she wanted marshmallow mateys for every meal! Me holding Jordan. He is the smiliest baby! Jordan on the blanket I made him. Jar & I with the little ones!
One morning Audrey got all dressed up and requested some music so she could dance! (sorry about the sideways picture but I couldn't figure out how to turn it!)

Magic Mountain Men

Jarad's only request while we were in CA was that he get to go to Magic Mountain/Six Flags. So, the boys decided they'd go and leave us behind to watch the children. Which was fine by us because it was like 100 degrees and none of us love scary rides that much! So, we sent them off with camera in hand to enjoy their day on manliness!

Dad & David- checkin out the map of the park.

Dad & David ready to ride!

Jarad doesn't look so good...but he says he had a blast!

David & Batman... he and Jar love Batman!

Apparently on one of the rides there is this pole on which people spit their gum! GROSS!

Family Time

We have such a great family and we loved being able to spend so much time with them! We got to hang out, play with the little ones and just enjoy being together. Jordan was also blessed while we were out there. We are so glad we were able to be there for his special day!

David, Melanie, Audrey & Jordan

All the fam- David & Mel & kids, Mel's Parents, My Parents and Jar & I

Every time anyone went to cook while we were there, Audrey insisted on helping! She loves to have tastes of everything...flour, baking soda, you name it, she tried it!

There was also some lawn repair while we were there. The Dad's helped David and Melanie put some treatments on their lawn and adjust their sprinkling system.

Audrey also wanted painted toes and fingers, so she and I did just that.

She said she liked the color on her toes and that she looked so cute! She is so funny! After we finished her nails, Audrey wanted to paint Nana's fingers.

4th of July

We were able to celebrate the 4th with all the fam in Cali. Melanie's parents were also in town for the blessing and celebrated with us as well. David & Melanie's neighborhood had a block party, which included a yummy BBQ with food-a-plenty and then a great fireworks show in the culdesac afterwards. There were lots of bigger fireworks and of course my two favorites, POP-IT'S and SPARKLERS!!!

My neice Audrey did some swimming in a kiddie pool with the neighborhood kids and the rest of us just relaxed and enjoyed the fun!

Cutest, most-mellow baby ever!!- Little Jordan.

Jar holdin' Jordan and Mom!

Audrey loved sparklers more than me I think! We even did them the day after too!

Vacation Time!

Jar and I just returned from a great summer vacation. We went to Bakersfield, California (about two hours outside LA) to visit my older bro David, his wife Melanie and their two kids, Audrey (2yrs) and Jordan (6 weeks old). They blessed Jordan while we were there, which was the original reason for our trip, but we turned it into a vacation, since it will probably be the only one of the summer.

Chillin' at the SLC Airport- we are so ready for our vacay!

Extremely small plane we flew on...we had to walk outside at both airports! We also had to sit in the very back of the plane...lets just say I wasn't thrilled about this.

We're in Long Beach, CA!!! Yes, see the palm trees behind us!

Time to go to LAX to pick up my parentals! We coordinated flight times with them so we could share a rental car.

This is our sweet rental car for the trip...vrooom!

And there they are! Mom & Dad Wilson! LOVE THEM!

After LAX, came the long trip to Bakersfield. We cruised past Santa Monica Blvd...well, I wouldn't say cruised...more like putted...LA traffic was horrible! We kept at it for a while but then we stopped for dinner at Red Lobster along the way to break up the drive. Then we finally arrived in Bakersfield!!

Bundt Gone Bad!

So just before leaving for California, I tried to make an Oreo Chocolate Bundt cake to take to a BBQ at a friends house. It took alot of time to mix up the cake and make the filling and then just getting it in the pan was a process. First I crushed some oreos and put them in the bottom, then poured about half the cake mix in, and then I had to hand-spoon in the filling so it didn't touch the edges, followed by the rest of the batter. The I cooked it for an hour...when I took it out, it looked great! The recipe said to cool for about 15-20 minutes before taking it out of the bundt pan so I did. But when I went to take it out, it had fallen in the middle and I turned it over and out of the pan it came, and the middle was MUSH! Sad days!! Jar tried it and said it tasted good but it was definitely mushy. :( So...we scrapped that idea and ended up going to Costco for Cheescake and strawberries! And this is why I don't often try new recipes...especially baking ones because I don't have much success. Maybe I should take a baking class... no, really...look at the evidence!

No it's not burned, that's the oreo crumbs. Please note the massive goo piled in the middle!

Maybe powdered sugar will make it looke better....NOPE!

Happy Birthday Alan!

June 29th- would have been Alan Lewis Reddekopp's 55th birthday. Jarad and I decided to take the afternoon and drive to Heber to see his grave. We took some flowers and just sat and took in all in for a while. We took a few photo's and hope he knows we were thinking of him on his birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!

We were also able to visit with his wife- Angela and step-brother's Drew and Nathan.

He will soon have a headstone too, but for now there is a placard.

Concert Coolness!

Chillin' on the grass waiting for the show to begin!

USANA!

Maura & Cole

All of us

YEAH FOR TIM MCGRAW!!!

We love country music!

So as previously posted, we went to Tim McGraw last night! And it was AMAZING!!! First, it is Tim...hello handsome fella with a stellar voice!! Second, it was at the USANA Amphitheater which is a rather cool venue to attend a show. We went with our good friends Cole & Maura and just sang and danced our little hearts out!

So this is how our evening played out...the show was starting at 7:30pm but the gates opened at 6pm and seeing as we had lawn seats (not reserved) we needed to arrive early to get prime lawn area. So Jar and I headed out and got there and only had to wait about 10 min to get in. We walked swiftly to the grass area, found a great spot and just relaxed while we waited for our pals and the concert to begin.
There were two opening bands before Tim came on, Halfway 2 Hazard (H2H) and Jason Aldean. H2H was pretty good but we didn't know any of their songs and Jason Aldean was really good and we did know a couple of his songs.

Cole & Maura ...after a little ticket fiasco, got there just as H2H was getting going. Each band played a short set and then the stage was changed for TIM McGRAW!!!

Then after much anticipation....the music started...and there he was! Lookin' good and sounding better! He sang some new songs which of course were really good and made me want to run out and buy his newest CD (which I probably will later today!). He also sang a bunch of classics, which was my favorite part! Where the Green Grass Grows, Cherokee People, BBQ Stain, I Like It, I Love it, just to name a few! WE danced and sang our little hearts out!!! (OK, Cole, Maura and I did...Jarad only knew a few songs :) since his love for country music isn't what the rest of ours is!)
It was a great show, we had great company and a fantastic time!

Frisbee Golf

Amelia & Sam- Frisbee Golf Pros!

Jarad means business!

This past week we were able to go frisbee golfing with some friends from our ward. Jarad had played a few times before but it was a first for me! And it was really fun. There is an actual course fairly close to our house, which I never knew about. Sam and Jarad could really huck the frisbees where Amelia and I took a few more "shots" to get it in the basket! We really enjoyed it though and plan to go again soon! Next time we will be taking bug spray though...poor Jarad has a few mosquito bites. And we may have to wait a few days...as my shoulder muscles are too sore! Seriously! Both of our shoulders were sore after this weeks outing but it was worth the soreness. After our frisbee game we took Sam & Amelia to our favorite snow-shack...Bob's Brainfreeze! Good times were had by all!!
