I Love to See the Temple

We haven't been exactly stellar in our temple attendance since moving here to Colorado. The nearest temple to us is about an hour and twenty minutes away which is a big shock to us as we are used to having at least 5 temples within less than an hour of us!

On Saturday, however, we decided that it would be a great way to spend our afternoon!

Yeah for the temple! We had a great time!

The Denver Temple is very pretty.

We are determined to be better about our temple attendance! :)

And it begins...

The snow that is...this week we got our first big snow! And it was insane! It started snowing late Tuesday night and didn't really stop until late on Thursday! Over 50 hours of snow and wind and coldness! I have decided that I am over the snow and should think about moving to a warmer climate. Luckily though, I did get a snow day and loved staying home and keeping warm under blankets and reading books and sleeping in!

Here is the view from just outside our front door- whiteness everywhere!

The first day Jarad was driving to work and slid into a median and busted up his car. :( As you can see...the tire is entirely too close to the wheel well.

This is Jarad's car before we dug it out so the insurance people could come look at it.

Here I am all bundled up to head out for a few errands.

Well...I guess I better get used to the snow for now! :)

Children of the Corn

Last weekend, we went to the Fitzler Corn Maze with some new friends from our ward. It wasn't too chilly and we had lots of fun! We bought a combo pass and were able to do a handful of fun things!

Here we are, ready to enter Scared Acres....ooooo....spooky! Jarad screamed like a girl...almost more than I did!

We also did a 3-D smaller maze and a giant blow-up dinosaur scare! The boys hit up the giant pillow trampoline and went back to their younger days!

They tried to double bounce each other as high as they could so they could do "tricks." Here's Jarad showing his sweet moves!

More Birthday Celebrations

Jarad lucked out with multiple birthday celebrations this year.

He Mom always does a Sunday dinner with the birthday kid's favorite meal and dessert. Jarad always picks fried chicken, rice & gravy and corn with strawberry shortcake for dessert!

YUM! So excited for his fav!

Just after his birthday, Jar's good friend Ben was home on leave form Iraq and we were lucky enough to get together with him and his new, fiance' Krista.

The happy couple...Ben & Krista

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and Ben likes to embarrass Jarad as much as I do so we told them it was his birthday. They didn't let us down! They brought out the saddle and the cowboy hat and made a big ruckus about his birthday. It was great!

Such a cute birthday boy! His face was almost as red as his shirt.

The Big 3-0!!!

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY JARAD!!!

Unfortunately, Jarad's birthday was on a weekday, so we didn't get to have a big bash yet but we will be celebrating again this weekend! However, we did have a minor shin-dig with his family (minus one sister who had to work :().
We had dinner at one of his favorite places- Chipotle and just had some fun family time!

Jar's Mom got him his new favorite Wii game...Animal Crossing. In his own words, it is "the dumbest game, but so addicting!" Many hours have already been spent setting up his city! HA!

Jarad's sister Kayla- too cute!

Grandma (Jar's Mom) & Mya (niece)

Poppa (Dad), Aleah (niece), Sienna (niece) & Janna (sister)- look at all that yummy Chipotle! (Jar's sister Deahna was also there, but we didn't get a picture.)

The birthday boy & I!

Hope you had a great birthday Jar!

Conference Surprise

Last weekend was General Conference. We spent Sunday down at Jar's family's place watching conference and eating away! YUM!

Jar & I...the traditional (not intentional, it just happens!) nap during the afternoon session. We are so bad!

And the surprise part, was that Jarad's sister, Janna, and her girls were coming to visit for Jar's birthday. Although he got word of the surprise so it wasn't really a surprise anymore. Aleah's (niece) birthday had just past so we decided to celebrate when they got into town.

So, or course, we had to get ready to celebrate in style! He's so creative!

Miss Aleah opening her presents.

She also got a new pet for her birthday! Jarad's other sister, Deahna, found this little guy walking across the road one day and brought him home. Luckily, it was just what Aleah wanted for her birthday! Say hello to Mr. T!
