Happy Golden Birthday To Me!

Yup, I am officially in my "late" twenties! The big 27 of the 27th of March- my golden birthday. And that's a good way to describe my day- golden!

Jarad took the day off of work and so I got to spend the day with him! We slept in, Jar cooked me breakfast (waffles with strawberries), we did some shopping, went to the movies and just had fun together. That night, some pals came over for brownies and ice cream and then I got to go to girls night in which was fun!

Some of the crew from the brownie get-together.

Thanks to everyone for the phone-calls, the texts, the messages on facebook, the gifts, etc. etc. I felt very loved and blessed to have such great family and friends share their love with me on my birthday.

It was a great birthday and am ready to take on the year of 27!

Girl's Shower

My best friend is having a baby! It is so crazy! Anyway....myself and "my girls" had a laid-back baby shower for Tarina. We ate, chatted, opened presents and felt the baby belly! (Thanks to Chrissy for hosting!)

Tarina opening presents- love the ducks!

Me & my Mellie

Everyone feeling baby girl kickin' away! Love the belly!!!

"The Girls"- well about half of us! Missed everyone else!

We also got to surprise Tarina with her wedding quilt. Yep, we are almost two years behind but we figured she should know she's getting one before she had a child! It is all sewn and off to be quilted.

This is the middle block- Chrissy embroidered the flowers and their names/wedding date.

This is the quilt! (sorry it isn't a great picture!)

Happy St. Patty's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Did you know Jar and I were in a parade???!

Here we are!

Just kidding, we weren't really in a parade but we saw one! We went down to the Gateway Mall to take Jar's computer into the Apple store and didn't realize there was a huge parade going on! We had to jet across the middle of the parade to get to the store and then jet back across again to get to our car. Fun times!

Draper Temple Open House

We were very lucky, and got to go to the Draper Temple Open House. It was the first open-house I've ever been to and it was really beautiful. It's amazing how they have the process down up there. We arrived at our designated church, watched a short film on temples and then loaded into a small charter bus for the five minute ride up the hill to the temple. After getting inside, it was a self guided tour and we got to see so many beautiful things in the temple. It was cool to see how a "mini" temple is set up too. I can't wait to be able to go do temple work there. We are very blessed to have so many temples, so close by!

We went with two other couples, Jason & Amy and Cole & Maura- thanks for a fun night guys!

Jar took a picture of the temple just before we got back on the bus. SO PRETTY!!

Average Trip to Wally-World

Jar & I went to Walmart Saturday night (the worst time to go) to pick a few things up. But by luck, we actually found a parking spot not out in BFE! However, we we pulled in, there was a motorized cart right in the way! So, Jar jumped out to move it and what else would he do but ride the sweet ride into Wally-World! Just your average trip to the local Walmart.

Looking good babe...now we know what you'll look like in a few years! ;)

Single-Handed Updates

For those who've wanted to know, here is an update on my hand surgery. (For those who have a very weak stomach, be warned, there is one slightly graphic pic of my hand)

I had to wear this bandage wrap for a week and I couldn't get my hand wet.

So I had this fancy, high-tech walmart bag I had to wear over my hand while I showered.

After just about a week, I got to take off my bandage wrap and I have to admit I was kind of terrified to see what was underneath! But it wasn't too bad at all. I only had two sutures.

For the second week I just had to have a bandage over my sutures but then after I got them out, I haven't had to have one on at all times but I pretty much have so that no one has to see my nasty scab!

All in all, I am glad I did the surgery and am happy, just three and a half weeks out, with my recovery. I have almost full movement and can pretty much do everything I want with it. I have ditched all my wrist pain and the numbness is almost gone too, which is wonderful! I still don't have all my strength back and Jarad still has to open jars, etc for me but it is slowly returning as well. So, I would say it's has been a successful first surgery/recovery experience!

Brotherly Love

Almost two weeks ago, my little brother was returning to Colorado from his business trip in Alaska and had a long layover here in Salt Lake. So, I went to the airport and picked him up and we got to spend a few hours catching up and hanging out before he had to get back for his flight. We went to Noodles & Co...yummy, for dinner and just sat, ate and chatted. Jar met up with us after work so he could see Kevin as well.
It was so awesome to see him and get to spend some time with him. He is one of my best friends and I miss being able to see him (and his cute wife) more often. He never fails to make me laugh till my side hurts and is always supportive and I love him SOOOO much!

Kev & I- buds forever!
